     Utilizing PLU (Price look up) scales in your store allows your employees to simply press one key to “Look up” the price and item name of what they want at the point of sale. A bar-coded label can be produced ensuring all goods sold are labeled and not under nor overpriced. The barcode eliminates pricing errors at the checkout.

     Retail system scales allow the modern grocer to tie his or her scales into an in store computer system. Using Avery Berkel software, management can track all aspects of scale operations including multiple department and store data. Manage product data, price changes, promotions, label formats, barcodes and operators all from an office computer without the need to ever touch the scales...except to weigh goods and print labels of course.

     Avery Berkel system scales can be set up in a “floating operator” mode, which allows the operator to “float” from scale to scale while serving a customer. When the operator is finished with the customer, he or she can totalize the customers order on any scale on the network. This mode of operation can speed up customer service time, producing a single receipt style label.
